Students in 916 Ink's after-school creative writing club will:

  • Learn to write poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction

  • Learn how to give and receive positive feedback and encouragement

  • Polish, edit and revise their work for publication 

  • Become a published author in a professionally-produced book of student work
    (Each student receives two free copies of their book.)

  • Have the opportunity to practice their public speaking skills in front of friends and family at a book release and reading party

All of our Word Squad Sessions will be held in 916 Ink's whimsical,"Imaginarium," at 3301 37th Ave., Room 15, Sacramento.


Enrolled students will write fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction with 916 Ink staff and volunteers. Through the course of the program, your student will have the opportunity to choose 2-3 pieces of creative writing to polish and revise for publication in an anthology of student work. Each student will receive 2 free copies of their book, to be presented at a book release and reading party. Friends and family are invited to attend!
